Dear Cambridge Family,

We are pleased to announce our OPEN HOUSE dates for this Spring: Friday/April 13 - Saturday/April 28 - Friday/May 11 Each open house will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the faculty presenting available classes for the coming year. Each gathering includes refreshments and plenty of fellowship with Cambridge students, parents and faculty. Mark your calendar and RSVP jkirby@cambridgestudycenter.org if you plan to attend on one of those dates.

The Cambridge Prayer Brunch is scheduled for Wednesday March 7 at 10 a.m. at the home of Hugh and Jan Coachman, 5220 Lakeland Highlands Road. The brunch is planned for ladies who are friends, family or board members of Cambridge Study Center. This is a time for big decisions at the study center and we value your participation through prayer. If your schedule allows, please plan to be a part of this important event. RSVP: jancoach@juno.com

In the fall Cambridge will offer a new class titled Language, Truth & Manners. The class, taught by Eric Fullgraf, will focus on the relational skills of writing, public speaking and etiquette, all badly needed skills in our culture. It is a one year class that will meet for three hours a week and will require preparation outside of class. Eric's Introduction to Writing class will continue to be offered separately as necessary, and those students who have had his writing class can arrange for a special class on public speaking and etiquette. If you have questions you can email Eric at efullgraf@cambridgestudycenter.org

Student News: Katie Mesh has been selected a Maclellan Scholar at Covenant College (you might ask Katie about her stint in Covenant's electrical closet!) and also has been named a Heritage Scholar finalist at New College. Our hearty congratulations to Katie. Ben Keim's articles for the UVA Cavalier are now being published on ESPN's website. We are enjoying Ben's budding writing career! Michelle Schaeffer, Michael Strawbridge, Doug Hughes, Danielle Forman, Cal Purcell and Jared Morrison recently returned from an excursion to Covenant College. While there, they attended classes and participated in Covenant campus life. Jacqueline Thrush, who had spent the previous ten days on campus, returned with the group on Sunday the 25th after the group attended morning worship at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian. Dustin and Jeff McDonald (Covenant Presbyterian Church) chaperoned the trip.

Janie and I also returned recently from a trip to Covenant College. During our time there, the Development Department of the college very graciously gave me half a day, answering my questions regarding the fine points of developing support for the study center. Their instruction was most helpful and comes at a very important time for Cambridge, a time when we are attempting to purchase a larger facility. It also was great to spend time with the Cambridge alumni who attend Covenant. While in Chattanooga, Janie and I were able to spend an enjoyable 3 hour lunch with close friends Bruce and Susan Young, missionaries to Japan. We also celebrated my mothers 80th birthday, an enjoyable event that turned into a mini-reunion with relatives I had not seen for twenty-five years.

On January 30 Cambridge attended Wm. Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors at Florida Southern College. The play was presented by a theatre group established by John Houseman at Julliard. The college provided tickets for the 39 students and faculty who attended.  A number of parents also participated, and all retired to the Kirby's for a reception following the play.

Janie and I are continually amazed and thankful for the support of the Cambridge Study Center Foundation. They are a tremendous source of encouragement to us both! Please be in prayer for this wonderful group and also pray regarding a new facility. There are several buildings and sites being considered, but we need wisdom in making a final decision, wisdom that only God can give us.

Sincerely,
Bruce Kirby
